The photograph is here at the service of alternative art. The simple shooting becomes a real experiment. We sail with the artist in another dimension and we discover an unexpected facet of his technique. The composition plays with the balance between Black and White, and lets the instinct show the artist the way throughout the creative process. The Harmony of the result is finally given by a long process of research, trial and groping more or less successful.

We can’t explain beauty; it imposes itself plainly to us. Joel Vogt lauds the abstract art with two unique compositions in tribute to the painter of mannerism Giuseppe Arcimboldo. The first one is a collage made from pictures of elephant’s skulls while the second one is made from photos of a sea urchin skeleton.

Here and there, women and men, boats and chains, towers and lampposts mix together in a silent music in the curves that the artist draws. Another series of seven photographs of contrast illustrates the gift of the artist for construction. Silhouettes cover the white and black backgrounds; we play with the lines and shapes. The depth of each picture tells a story, describes a movement.

We are nearer of the world of comics than of the world of traditional photography. The bubbles are simply replaced by the obvious impressionism in each composition. The implicit has never been so clear as in Black and White.
